We recommend that you clean ICEBREAKER before using it the first time. Simply, disassemble the ICEBREAKER as instructed in the product guide and clean the parts with a soft brush and soapy water. We have also made a video with instructions on how to disassemble and clean.
Regularly cleaning is needed to avoid bacteria formation and limescale, which can make the filling process difficult and may cause the ice cubes to stick to the gaskets. Weekly cleaning (or after 5-7 times of use) is recommended. See our product guide for more information.
Move the marker to filling position by turning the lid. Fill with approx. 140 ml coffee machine descaler (follow the descaler/water ratio specified by the descaler product). Leave for 15 minutes, empty and clean.
If water drips from the ICEBREAKER after you have placed it in the freezer, it might be because the marker is not placed precisely on “drop” icon, which means that the tubs are not locked. Before putting ICEBREAKER in freezer, remember to gently shake ICEBREAKER upside down and wipe it off before.
If the ice cubes are not properly released when you turn the lid of your ICEBREAKER, it can be an indication that your ICEBREAKER needs to be descaled.
To descale your ICEBREAKER simply move the marker to filling position by turning the lid. Fill with approx. 140 ml coffee machine descaler (follow the descaler/water ratio specified by the descaler product). Leave for 15 minutes, empty and clean.
Make sure to use a thin water jet to avoid overfilling the filling tub
Make sure that the marker is placed on correctly (if not, the tubs might not fill and water will drip from the bottom)
Limescale might stop the water from filling the tubs (see our product guide on how to clean and descale ICEBREAKER)
In case of heavy limescale, descaling is required. Move the marker to the “drop” icon and fill the filling tub with coffee machine descaler (follow the descaler/water ratio specified by the descaler product). Leave for 15 minutes and clean. See our product guide for more information.
Yes, ICEBREAKER is dishwasher-safe. However, ICEBREAKER must be cleaned disassembled and separately from any other objects to avoid bacteria from other objects in the dishwasher.
